【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoverstherequirementsforautomated,controlledshotpeeningofmetallicarticlespriortoelectrolyticorautocatalyticdepositionofnickelorchromium,orasafinalfinish,usingshotmadeofcaststeel,conditionedcutwire,orceramicmedia.Theprocessisapplicabletothosematerialsonwhichtestworkhasshownittobebeneficialwithingivenintensityranges.Itisnotsuitableforbrittlematerials.Handpeeningandrotaryflappeeningareexcludedspecifically.1.2Shotpeeninginducesresidualcompressivestressesinthesurfaceandnear-surfacelayersofmetallicarticles,controllingorlimitingthereductioninfatiguepropertiesthatoccursfromnickelorchromiumplatingofthearticle,orthefatiguepropertiesofunplatedarticles.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
