【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversdeterminationofthecoefficientoflinearthermalexpansionforplasticmaterialshavingcoefficientsofexpansiongreaterthan1X10-61?Cbyuseofavitreoussilicadilatometer.Atthetesttemperaturesandunderthestressesimposed,theplasticmaterialsshallhaveanegligiblecreeporelasticstrainrateorboth,insofarasthesepropertieswouldsignificantlyaffecttheaccuracyofthemeasurements.Note1-ThereisnosimilarorequivalentISOstandard.TestMethodE228shallbeusedfortemperaturesotherthan-30?Cto30?C.Thistestmethodshallnotbeusedformeasurementsonmaterialshavingaverylowcoefficientofexpansion(lessthan1X10-61?C).Formaterialshavingverylowcoefficientofexpansion,interferometerorcapacitancetechniquesarerecommended.Thethermalexpansionofaplasticiscomposedofareversiblecomponentonwhicharesuperimposedchangesinlengthduetochangesinmoisturecontent,curing,lossofplasticizerorsolvents,releaseofstresses,phasechangesandotherfactors.Thistestmethodisintendedfordeterminingthecoefficientoflinearthermalexpansionundertheexclusionofthesefactorsasfaraspossible.Ingeneral,itwillnotbepossibletoexcludetheeffectofthesefactorscompletely.Forthisreason,thetestmethodcanbeexpectedtogiveonlyanapproximationtothetruethermalexpansion.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
