【摘要】:Physicaltests,properlyinterpreted,provideinformationwithregardtothephysicalpropertiesoftheinsulationorjacket.Thephysicaltestvaluesgiveanapproximationofhowtheinsulationwillphysicallyperforminitsservicelife.Physicaltestsprovideusefuldataforresearchanddevelopment,engineeringdesign,qualitycontrol,andacceptanceorrejectionunderspecifications.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverproceduresforthetestingofthermoplasticinsulationsandjacketsusedoninsulatedwireandcable.Todeterminethetesttobemadeontheparticularinsulationorjacketcompound,refertotheproductspecificationforthattype.Thesetestmethodsdonotapplytotheclassofproductsknownasflexiblecords.Theelectricaltestsoninsulationandwater-absorptiontestsdonotapplytotheclassofproductshavingaseparatorbetweentheconductorandtheinsulation.1.2Thesetestmethodspertaintoinsulationorjacketmaterialforelectricalwiresandcables.Inmanyinstancestheinsulationorjacketmaterialcannotbetestedunlessithasbeenformedaroundaconductororcable.Therefore,testsaredoneoninsulatedorjacketedwireorcableinthesetestmethodssolelytodeterminetherelevantpropertyoftheinsulationorjacketmaterialandnottotesttheconductororcompletedcable.1.3Whenevertwosetsofvaluesarepresented,indifferentunits,thevaluesinthefirstsetarethestandard,whilethoseinparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.ForspecifichazardsseeSections4and63.1.5Theproceduresappearinthefollowingsections:Procedure
